What to expect when bringing your pet for a grooming session
Curbside service. Please pull in and send a text that you have arrived.
Have your pet leashed or kenneled so I do not have to chase them around the car.
Please allow 2 to 4 hours for the completion of your pets haircut. My goal is to have your pet finished within one hour but some pets require a break and this also allows me to have time to clean and disinfect as I go.
Large breeds please allow 4 to 6 hours.
Parasites
Working from my home I have a zero tolerance policy for fleas and intestinal parasites. If fleas are seen no matter what stage of the groom we are in, you will need to immediately pick your pet up. I will do a flea shampoo but will not blow dry your pet as that will spread the fleas. Your pet will need to be clear of all parasites before their next grooming appointment.
Vaccines
I do not require vaccines or keep record of them. It is Oklahoma law to have your pet up to date on rabies. In some circumstances such as with recently found strays or aggressive dogs I may ask for proof of rabies for my own safety. Otherwise vaccines on your pet are a personal choice.
No Show and Late Cancellation
No shows will be billed for the full appointment price and the fee must be paid before rebooking. Late cancellations within 24 hours may be subject to a thirty dollar booking fee. Please let me know as soon as possible if you need to move your appointment. I only do one dog at a time so no shows and cancellations hit a lot harder than shops that multitask on pets.
Size and Breed Restrictions
At this time I cannot accomodate extra large or heavily shedding breeds. This is unfortunate as I adore German Shepherds and Great Pyrenees but I have a very small salon. As I expand I will open up availability for these breeds. I do not groom cats.
Respect the Residence
Outside of business hours during your appointment this is a private residence. I do not take walk ins. Please do not arrive more than 15 minutes early without checking with me and please do not drop in if you do not have an appointment.
Pickup window
If you are doing an early drop off please discuss your pickup time. I am flexible for working pet parents but I do need prompt pickup at the discussed time.
Straight through appointments may wait in the driveway if they like and must arrive to pick up within 15 minutes of notification that your pet is ready.
Satisfaction Guarantee
Please notify me of any problems with the haircut within 24 hours. Touch ups can be done within 7 days of the groom if the issue is brought to my attention with 24 hours. Any later and we can fix it at their next appointment. It sometimes takes a few tries to bring your vision to life so feel free to let me know of any changes you want each time your pet is groomed. We will get it perfect for you!
Injuries
Unfortunately dog grooming does have some risk even with the most careful handling. If your pet incurs even the slightest injury YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED. I will NEVER not inform you of any nicks, scrapes, cuts or even if your pet takes a bump or a fall. I use very safe grooming practices, no pet is ever left unattended on tables. I do not push dogs who are stressed. I am very careful with all of my sharp objects.
If there is a cut that requires medical attention The Lab will pay for the initial veterinary visit. The Lab will ONLY cover the injury if it is treated PROMPTLY and not ignored til a later date. The Lab will not pay for any injuries incurred after the initial veterinary visit, at that point it is your responsibility to prevent your pet from opening sutures or getting secondary infection.
The Lab does not cover injuries on pets that are matted, pelted or severely obese. These are high risk factors for injury.
If you believe a problem has arisen due to grooming please notify me immediately.
Leashes
Please do not let your pet loose on the property. I am on a somewhat busy road. I will not help chase loose pets! Keep them leashed or kenneled or carried.
Can I watch?
Due to the small space in my salon and due to my home owners insurance policy I cannot have clients inside the salon during grooming. I am happy to show you my setup at the first appointment and I am also happy to send pictures and videos during the groom.
